Our Vision

St. Mary’s National School is a co-educational Catholic primary school under the patronage of the Bishop of Meath.

The school aims to develop all dimensions of the life of a child – spiritual, moral, cognitive, emotional, imaginative, aesthetic, social and physical. Our school recognises the value of every human being in the school community and celebrates their successes. It acknowledges the rights of all the children to equal access to learning opportunities. Children are active in their learning and the process of guided discovery is used to encourage the development of motivation and creativity. A spirit of generosity and a love of learning are fostered in a nurturing environment where there is strong sense of work and a spirit of fun. Children develop values and beliefs that lead to fulfilling lives and have the strength of character to stand up for these and to hold true to them over time. They have an awareness of their own cultural heritage and identity. They learn to celebrate diversity. Children emerge as strong, happy, balanced and confident individuals, learning from all life’s experiences, with a deep sense of respect for themselves, others and the world in which they live.
