We celebrated Proclamation Day on Tuesday March 15th, 2016. This was the day when every school in the country was invited to raise the National flag that had been presented earlier in the year and share the results of their Proclamation for a New Generation.
Our pupils shared their learning with everyone present and sang Amhrán na bhFiann and Ireland’s Call.
Pupils from 5th class and 1st class both read out the old proclamation and their modern proclamations. They all have great hopes and dreams for a future Ireland.
We had individual class assemblies from 3rd to 6th class which involved dances, songs and drama. We then ended the day with a whole school dance of amach agus isteach out on the yard.
What a wonderful way to celebrate the centenary year!
